Board Chair & Co-Founder

She Connects Foundation

December 2019 - February 2026

She Connects Foundation was a non-profit organization I co-founded in response to the lack of female peer mentorship available for youth in high school. I was elected as the first board chair of the organization when we officially incorporated in 2021, and led the recruitment, training, onboarding, and culture transition when we brought on a total of 11 board members. In our first year as an incorporated society, I led the formation of sub-committees (fundraising, events, governance, etc), strategic planning, mentee and mentor recruitment strategizing, and team development/training for the board. Since launching in 2019, we received an award from the United Nations, connected over 50 mentees with a mentor, and created a nationwide network of young women who have the common goal of supporting one another to achieve their dreams.

Co-Founder

KPU Case Analysis Network

August 2019 - December 2021

In university, I co-founded a student program called the KPU Case Analysis Network to bring together the various case teams from different business programs. The goal of the Network was to formalize the case-based learning program and create a structure to recruit and train students to compete in national and international business case competitions. In 2021 we hosted our university's first-ever case competition and it was fully planned and executed by our student volunteers. We achieved over $10k in sponsorship funding and brought together teams of business students from universities across the country

Oikocredit challenges all to invest responsibly. It provides financial services and supports organizations to improve the quality of life of low-income people and communities in a sustainable way. Oikocredit Canada Support Association was led by a volunteer board charged with the responsibility for carrying out Oikocredit's grassroots education and outreach initiatives, strategic planning, and advancing the mission of the organization.

Associate Dean Search Committee Member

Kwantlen Polytechnic University

September 2021

The Dean of the Melville School of Business brought me on board the Executive Search Committee, which was seeking to fill two associate dean positions. The committee developed our selection criteria, narrowed down the applicant list, and interviewed the short-list candidates. We then provided our recommendations to the Dean of Business to make her final decisions. This experience allowed me to partake in a very high-level search and selection process and challenged me to think critically about what characteristics and experiences would be most appealing in a candidate, and what other types of soft skills are necessary to be successful in the position.

Young Director

Fora Network for Change

2021

Fora's Rise on Boards program is an initiative that aims to empower young women by providing them with opportunities to serve on nonprofit boards of directors. The program is designed to address the under-representation of women in leadership positions and to help young women develop the skills and experiences needed to become effective leaders. Through this program, I received in-depth training from expert facilitators in matters of governance, financials, fundraising, communications, problem-solving, and leadership.

Board Member

Kwantlen Student Association

2017-2018

I ran for council in the Fall 2017 KSA by-election and was elected by the student body to serve on the Board of Directors. The KSA is a multi-million-dollar not-for-profit organization serving the students of Kwantlen Polytechnic University. As a board member, I represented the interests and concerns of the student body, worked with council to develop and implement plans of action, and held fiduciary responsibility for the responsible stewardship of student funds.
